To my Grove family,
This week we continue the six-week series we are calling “Resolved” and this weekend Pastor Daniel Bishop will be preaching the message called “Living God’s Way in a World Gone Wild”. If you will read 1 Peter 2, Proverbs 10:25, Romans 12:1-2, Isaiah 64:7-8, Hebrews 4:13, and Proverbs 6:16-17, you will be ready for Daniel’s message this weekend. Remember you can also go to the home page on our website and click on the button “Resolved” to read chapter one of the book Resolved and also work on the homework from last week.
Love & Respect Class
What do you want for your marriage? Peace? To feel close? To feel valued? To experience marriage the way God intended? Join us for an eight-week class through Dr. Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs’ Love & Respect series. This class will start Sunday, September 25, at 9 a.m., in Room D-4. Please click here to register.
Food donations for the Homeless and Corner Pantry Ministries at The Grove are needed to help provide nutritious hot meals to the homeless and food for families in our community. Grove volunteers will collect the donations from behind your vehicles during services this weekend on September 17/18. Please click here for the Donations Items Needed list.
Talk on Baptism
Join us this weekend after every service if you are interested in being baptized. Our next baptism is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, after the 10:45 a.m. service, and we want everyone to talk to a pastor before they are baptized. This way you fully understand what is involved in the baptism experience. Pastor Andy will be available after all the services to talk with you and sign you up for baptism.
Singles One-Day Conference
This huge Singles Conference, “Navigating the Single Life”, will be Saturday, October 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be a full day of speakers on relevant topics including Love Languages and The Mathematics of Dating. The featured guest speaker is Pastor Thomas Rose of OC Singles for Christ Church and worship music will be provided by the band Lost and Found. The cost is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. A continental breakfast and lunch are included. Click here to register. For more information, please email Kathy Corn, Antoinette Babers, or Tom Durbin.
If you did not receive last week’s Outreach Newsletter, sent late Friday morning via email, please contact Taylor Maberry at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will send you last week’s edition and ensure you receive future newsletters. These emails feature photos, videos, and highlights of Outreach events, locally and globally, as well as information on how to get involved in being changed by God to reach all people.
On Saturday evening the special will be chili rellenos served with rice and beans and a beverage for $8.40 plus tax. There will be a dessert of the chef’s choice for all guests. Our free “Uncrustable” peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit cup, chocolate chip cookie, and Kool-Aid juice packet is for our guests 12 and under with an adult entrée purchase.
See you all this weekend.
