The Grove’s Weekly Message from Tom – October 12

By October 12, 2016 Tom's Weekly Email

To my Grove family,

This weekend I will be speaking on, “Take a Stand and Live a Holy Life”. Pastor Joe Hobbs will be preaching at the Sunday night service and Erick Burgos will be preaching at the Spanish service at 10:45 a.m. in the Chapel. This is going to be the first sermon of a two-part “Take Heart and Pray” series. Pastor Daniel will be preaching on prayer next weekend. If you will read all of 1 Peter 1 you will be ready for the message this weekend.

Spiritual Gifts Class
Do you want to find out what your spiritual gifts, personal style, and passions are? Do you want to find a ministry in which God created you to serve? This class will help you define these personal elements, plus find a ministry that matches the gifting profile God has given you. We hope all of our Grove family will take this class. It is being taught this Friday, October 14, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and continues Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in Room D-4. Please register here.

We Need Your Help
Calling Grove men! We need four to five volunteers this Thursday and Friday (October 13 and October 14) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You will be assisting two carpenters from Tilden-Coil to put landscape borders around our new soccer field and trees east of the Worship Center. If you’re available or if you have questions, please contact Dave Wilbert at 951-675-0325.

Local Outreach
Volunteers are needed for the Good Hope Community Thanksgiving dinner in Perris (Moses-Schaffer Community Center) on Thursday, November 17, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. to help with cooking, serving, greeting, and parking. If you are interested or have any questions, please email Hannah Hunter at hhunter@thegrove.cc.

Food Donations
Food donations for our Homeless and Corner Pantry Ministries are needed to help provide nutritious hot meals for the homeless and food for families in need within our community. Grove volunteers will collect the donations from behind your vehicles during services this weekend on October 15 and 16. Please click here for the Donations Items Needed list. Thank you.

HUB
For tonight’s Family Night, the Hub special is a chicken taco salad for $7.40 plus tax. On Saturday evening, the special will be a chicken wet burrito with red sauce served with a beverage for $8.40 plus tax. There will be a dessert of the chef’s choice for all guests. Our free “Uncrustable” peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit cup, chocolate chip cookie, and Kool-Aid juice packet is for our guests 12 and under with an adult entrée purchase.

Are all you “cool weather” fans enjoying today?

See you at Family Night this evening and this coming weekend.
