To my Grove family,
This weekend’s sermon is the third in the four-week Love Offering series we are calling Rise Up and Shine. This week I will be preaching in all the services and the title for my message is “Shine”. I will be using the entire 17th chapter of the book of 1 Samuel for my text. If you will read that chapter you will be ready for the message this weekend. You can also purchase one of our Rise Up and Shine tee shirts at the Bookstore for $15. They are really comfortable and very soft; you will love them.
The place where we lock up all the vans was broken into again last night. We have installed cameras in that area but need help from some of you who know how to install security motion lights. We got a picture of the people who drilled a hole into one of our gas tanks but if we had the lights the pictures would have been so much clearer. This is the second time in three months they have broken in to this area. Can some of you use your God-given giftedness to help us out? Here is the request from Dave Wilbert who oversees all of our facilities:
Attention Grove Handymen: The church needs help placing some motion sensor lights around our secure parking area. The job will require running conduit, pulling wire, mounting lights, and tying into the existing electrical system. The work would take one or two days depending on experience and the number of volunteers. If you have experience as an electrician and time to volunteer, please contact Dave Wilbert at email@example.com or 951-675-0325.

Thanksgiving Dinner in Perris
Volunteers are needed for the Good Hope Community Thanksgiving dinner in Perris (Moses-Schaffer Community Center) on Thursday, November 17, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., to help with cooking, serving, greeting, and the parking lot. If you are interested or have any questions, contact Hannah Hunter at email@example.com.
“Rise up and Shine!” The “nations” are among us. Will you open your Thanksgiving table to include one or two international students this year? These are men and women from all over the world studying here in Riverside, and most will never step into an American home. For information about how you can share the love of Christ by welcoming an international student into your family’s Thanksgiving celebration, contact Mike Cain at firstname.lastname@example.org or 951-906-2674.
A Night to Remember
The holiday season is not only a time of joy and happiness, but also a time we fondly remember our loved ones who have died. Join us for A Night to Remember, a service of remembrance to honor these loved ones, on Monday, December 5, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., in the Chapel. You are welcome to bring a small photo of your loved one to be placed in a special ornament for our remembrance tree which you can take home at the end of the evening. For more information, please call 951-571-9096.
Grove Golf Tournament
Mark your calendars for the annual Grove Golf Classic on Saturday, December 3. The proceeds support the Men’s HANDS trek to Belize by providing funds for construction and community outreach projects in one of the most fatherless nations in the world. Sign up here to golf. You don’t have to be any good at golf to enjoy this day and to support this amazing cause! We also need tournament sponsors; there are many different levels of sponsorships available. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, please email Andy Gibeault at email@example.com.
Christmas is coming and we need volunteers to help decorate the church on Monday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We need help fluffing garland and trees and hanging and setting out decorations throughout the church and corner building. Laneisa Veronick and Lyndi Thomas will be heading up the team so if you are interested in helping please contact Laneisa at firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you on tonight at Family Night and this weekend,
