The Grove’s Weekly Message from Tom – December 14

By December 16, 2016 November 19th, 2019 Tom's Weekly Email

To my Grove family,

This Weekend
This weekend, join us as our Celebrative Arts Department presents a very special Christmas production during normal service times. This unique production features a number of our talented Grovites as we celebrate the Christmas story through song, dance, drama, spoken word, and media. This is a great weekend to invite your family, friends, and neighbors. Go tell it in your neighborhood that Jesus Christ is born! See you there!

CBU Basketball Games
California Baptist University’s basketball teams (Lancers) will be playing at CBU on Monday, December 19, and The Grove is invited! The women’s team will be playing Saint Martin’s at 5 p.m. and the men’s team will be playing San Marcos at 7 p.m. Grove attendees and up to four guests will receive complimentary entry into the basketball games as well as complimentary parking (seats are not guaranteed). Just pick up a flyer at the Welcome Counters this weekend to show at the game or show this digital announcement at the game for free admission.

What if we knew the needs of at-risk children? What if the State took these needs to a community of caring churches? CarePortal connects our church to local children and families in crisis. This ministry plans to launch at the end of January. Click here for a video on hit CarePortal works. If you are interested in participating, please email Pastor Joe Hobbs.

STOP Human Trafficking Event
Did you know that every day in small towns and big cities and in countries throughout the world, women and girls are being trafficked into a horrible life of sexual slavery? It’s happening right here in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The Grove is partnering with Soroptimist International of Riverside and Corona for a ‘STOP Human Trafficking’ event to be held at The Grove on Thursday, January 19, from 6:30-9:00 p.m., in Room C100. Come and join us to learn more about this devastating issue and how you can help. Several anti-human trafficking organizations will be represented. A $10 donation will be accepted at the door.

We Need Ham!
We are looking to collect 65 hams to pass out at the Corner Pantry. If you could purchase a ham and leave it behind your vehicle this weekend we will make sure these hams are passed out to people in need. If you would like to bring a ham down to the Corner Building you can do that, too. Just mention that it is for the Pantry.

HANDS Team Meeting – Sunday
The next HANDS Belize Trek meeting is this Sunday, December 18, at 12:15 p.m., in Room C100. HANDS men, please bring your next $250 of fundraising (for a total of $500 submitted). Also, please submit your completed application and/or color passport copy, if Taylor does not have those already. Email Taylor Maberry with questions.

Hope you are all loving this weather. See you this weekend.
