By March 1, 2017 March 3rd, 2017 Tom's Weekly Email

To my Grove family,

Weekend Message
This weekend Pastor Daniel Bishop will be speaking and his message is called “Rise Up in Greatness”. If you will read Matthew 11:1-18 and Luke 7:18-25, you will be ready for this weekend.

Big Thank You!
Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who have worked so hard this week on the Rummage Sale. Without our Grove volunteers, we simply aren’t TheGrove. That was no more apparent than this week as hundreds of you worked countless hours to make the Rummage Sale all it can be; you were all awesome and we just want to say thank you and we love you all.

All Church Prayer & Worship TONIGHT
Please join us tonight from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Worship Center as we pray for and have a special send off for our men going on the HANDS trek to Belize. We will also pray for the needs of our church and local outreach. Let’s begin March together in prayer as we continue our Love Offering focus and Rise Up & Shine through Prayer. Children’s programming is available through Kindergarten and our Special Friends class will be meeting. The Hub will NOT be serving dinner tonight to allow all volunteers to join us for prayer and worship.

The Grove 5k Fun Run
The Grove 5k Fun Run is Saturday, April 1, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.This is a chip-timed event and covers multiple surfaces including concrete, asphalt, dirt, and trails, while music is playing around the campus. Since this is April Fools’ Day, we encourage you to dress up in any costume you would like which will make this event a lot of fun. This run/race is for serious runners, novice runners, and walkers. Medals will be given out to the top 15 runners for both men and women. This is a family fun event so bring the whole family. This event will take place rain or shine and there are no refunds once your registration is completed. Click here for information regarding the race and to sign up.

The Grove 5K Fun Run Volunteers
We need many volunteers to put this 5K Fun Run race together onSaturday, April 1. If you are interested in helping out on the day of the race, email Alexis Statler and she will use you. We need volunteers for registration, end of the race assistance, timing assistance, course marshals, and set-up coordinators. This will be a fun-filled day. If you are not interested in racing then help us out and sign up to volunteer. We would love to have you.

Annual Business Meeting
The Annual Business Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel. Church members will be asked to vote during that weekend to (1) confirm both Kent Dacus and Halford Webb as new Board Members for four-year terms; (2) confirm former Grove Board Member Craig Merrihew will assume the final two years of Brad Shearer’s term; and (3) confirm current Board Member Matt Bushman will continue as Treasurer for one additional year.

HANDS
About 100 guys will leave Thursday morning to serve in Belize from March 2-8. Belize is considered the “Fatherless Nation”. The men are going out to serve and be working at a camp, in the community, and in the city of Punta Gorda. The men are going to be “dads” to a community of children for a week. Pray for their travels, safety, and outreach to the community.

Premarital Class
Getting your marriage off to a good start is vital to a healthy marriage. This Premarital Class on Saturday, March 11, and continuing Saturday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at The Grove Corner, will encourage you and your fiancé/fiancée to talk about important issues and explore your knowledge about each other in a way that will ease this significant transition in your lives. It also helps you set a Biblical foundation for your marriage and have realistic expectations as you enter this new phase of your life. The cost is $100 per couple. Click here to register.

Thanks from Carol
Carol would like to thank this wonderful church for all their prayers, care, and cards that she’s been receiving since her knee replacement surgery. She is healing very well but needs to work at keeping her knee from swelling. She is slowly getting back to work but sitting or walking seems to set her back so she is trying to find her limits. She’s getting stronger every day and just wants you to know how much she appreciates each of you.

See you all this weekend,

Tom
