We desire to develop in our people God’s heart for ALL people. It’s simply about CHANGE. When He called each of us, He truly Changed us.
When we serve and love others, we continue to BE Changed.
And when we go into our community and world with the good news, we are constantly bringing forth Change in people’s lives and for the Kingdom. It is with this vision that we minister both locally and globally through our core value of Outreach.
We approach Outreach with God’s strategic plan laid out in the book of Acts:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” ACTS 1:8
Local Events & Community Center in the 92508 (“Jerusalem” in Acts 1:8)
We seek to reach our community through local outreach events intended to get people plugged into the church. We host events such as movie nights and Summer Splash to connect with families who do not regularly attend church.
We hope to engage their children with our programming in order to make the families feel comfortable here and at home.
We have also created The Grove Corner: Counseling and Community Center. A place where the community can receive services like: counseling, food pantry, community classes, computer repair, and banquet space for parties and meetings.
Past and future Outreach include:
Including Perris, Moreno Valley and Mead Valley areas (“Judea” in Acts 1:8)
We encourage everyone at The Grove to get involved in the work of meeting the needs of people in the greater Riverside area.
We encourage individuals, families, community groups, and entire ministries to get involved in serving.
We also partner with local organizations in these areas to reach the greater Riverside area. We believe we should focus not only on the global Church, but on what the Lord has called us to do for our surrounding city.
There are over 35 ministries you can volunteer with here at the Grove.
Some of the local partnering ministries and organizations include:
Teen Leadership Camp
Path of Life
Riverside Life Services
Foster/Adoption Programs –assistance
Calicinto Ranch After school programs
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
International Students Welcome Partners
As school starts back up, there are going to be hundreds of International students coming to Riverside for the first time. This is a practical opportunity for us to show the love of Christ in practical ways to many who have never heard of Jesus. We need welcome partners who will be able to pick students up from the airport, welcome them to Riverside, and help them set up life here. If you are interested in serving in one of these ways, please contact Mike Cain firstname.lastname@example.org or indicate that on your connect card.
(“Samaria” in Acts 1:8)
With the border of Mexico less than two hours away, we have the opportunity to serve frequently in a cross-cultural environment without having to travel very far.
We partner with Pastor Daniel Nuñez of El Niño, Mexico to help reach our goal of planting 50 churches in the next 7 years. Throughout our years of involvement with El Niño, we helped build their community center where they have church and feeding program.
Children, families, small groups, and adults are all welcomed to join one of our weekend trips to serve the community in Mexico.
This would be a great starting place before you join one of our other trips across the ocean. We take about 6 trips to Mexico a year.
