Dave Wilbert, Facilities Director
I came to know the Lord in my early 20’s, shortly after graduating from college. I recognized that something was missing from my life and somehow knew it involved God. I recognize now that this was the leading of the Holy Spirit. After several months of mentoring, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. My walk has followed many turns, but throughout my journey, I have always known God was pursuing me.
In 2012, I between job opportunities. Kelly and I had been praying together for God to use me where he wanted, even if it was in I direction I had never considered. The executive pastor (Bob Ellis) approached me to help manage the facilities due to a vacancy; however, there was no money to pay me. I agreed to serve for 20 hours a week while I continued to look for a permanent position. After 3 months, I was offered the position of Director of Facilities full time. It was hard to see anything but God opening a door, one I had never thought of. So I walked through. My life has been truly blessed as a result. I love what I do, the people I work with and the privilege of serving my church.
When I was in 4th grade I decided I wanted to be the next Jacques Cousteau! Although I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography and spent 7 years in the Navy the closest I ever came to that ambition was when Kelly (my wife) and I became scuba certified in 2004.
As the Director of Facilities, my prayer for The Grove is that our church always be a welcoming and pleasant place for individuals and families to gather for worship, fellowship, education and fun.
