Decades before phrases like "live your truth" and "my truth" became commonplace, moral relativism had already become lodged in Western culture. In "The Abolition of Man," C.S. Lewis diagnoses the problem of the teaching of relative values in schools and provides a defense of universal absolute values, what many call "natural law" or "general revelation." (Romans 1) Providing examples of these truths from a variety of religious traditions, Lewis provides a warning that we will lose our humanity if we fail to educate our children in these universal values, what Paul also calls the law "written on our hearts." (Romans 2:15)
